In college I was assigned a project to find any place on earth to re-brand and initiate what design for tourism would look like.
Spurred from my Scandinavian heritage, I chose the small Swedish island of Trysunda. I wanted to learn more about local tradition and art and incorporate that into the identity. The color red was chosen as the primary because of it's plentiful use in traditional Swedish rosemaling design.
I wanted all of the collateral to be intentionally high-quality and rustic like the buildings and boats that were built by hand on the island. This translates to hardwood name badges, canvas jackets, and embroidered patches.
